Government of Rwanda
The government of Rwanda has supported us generously in land donation, including the land for our Taba shelter and for the Rice Fields. The government also supports our family reintegration programs.
Media Espoir (France)
Media Espoir is an organization that works towards improving the lives of street children in Rwanda. Through their support, we are able to sustain our administrative costs, including paying the salaries of our employees. They also provide funds that help us pay for the basic necessities needed to make the lives of our students comfortable.
L’Amie supports the development and respect of rights for children in need in developing countries. With the help of L’Amie, we have been able to build the Vocational Center and the barn at our Taba shelter. L’Amie also connects Canadian families to 17 of our children through a sponsor a child program, which helps with their basic necessities and school fees.
A.I.M.E.R. supports shelters that receive street children both in France and in 17 countries abroad. For OPDE, A.I.M.E.R. supported the building of the dam and irrigation system that makes our rice cultivation project possible.
Virginia Tech (U.S.A.)
The Virginia Tech study abroad program “Linking Lives” sends a group of students to OPDE yearly to direct a English and computer skills teaching program for our students when they are not in school. Linking Lives also provides administrative support.
Firelight Foundation (U.S.A.)
The Firelight Foundation identifies, funds, and strengthens promising community organizations that support the health, resilience, and education of children in Africa. They have supported OPDE in the funding part of the Vocational Center.
